Leslie Nielson Passes Away

SAD NEWS...Actor Leslie Nielson passed away Sunday at the age of 84 .
Nielson died, at a Ft. Lauderdale hospital near his home, of complications from pneumonia with his family and friends at his side.
The Canadian born actor is best know for his roles in "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun Series". Prior to those roles he made frequent appearances on the live drama series "Goodyear Playhouse"; he also played the captain of of an overturned ocean liner in the 1972 disaster "The Poseidon Adventure". 
In 1980 his career changed when he was cast as a doctor in the spoof movie "Airplane!".  The line that changed his career was his response to the question: "Surely , you can't be serious?" with "I am serious -- and don't call me Shirley", in the original "Airplane!".
Nielson then was cast as Lt. Frank Drebin in "The Naked Gun" series.  In those three movies he shared the screen with Priscilla Presley and O.J. Simpson.

  1. Mr. Nielson was a very funny, hilarious man indeed, not to mention quite handsome :) He was in an episode or two on that show 'Golden Girls' .... i always watch that show :) Rest in peace Mr. Nielson.
