President Obama Gets Stitches

BREAKING NEWS...President Barack Obama received 12 stitches on his lip after a basketball injury.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the President received 12 stitches after he was hit by an errand elbow during a basketball game with family members and some aides Friday morning at Fort McNair military base in Washington.  The White House Medical Unit administered the stitches to the President under local anesthesia.
The elbow that hit President Obama belongs to Rey Decerega, who works for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.  The injury occurred when Decerega went to take a shot and turned into the President as he was playing defense and was accidentally hit in the mouth by Decerega.
Decerega released the following statement:  "I learned today the President is both a tough competitor and a good sport."  "I enjoyed playing basketball with him this morning. I'm sure he'll be back out on the court again soon."
Later in the day President Obama was seen holding a compress to his mouth as the White House Christmas tree was delivered by horse drawn carriage.
