Schwarzenegger: Allow Same Sex Weddings

Breaking news...Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is urging a federal court judge to allow same sex marriages without further delay.

California Attorney General Jerry Brown and Gov. Schwarzenegger filed legal motions Friday after Chief US District Judge Vaughn Walker Proposition 8, ban on same sex marriage, violated the constitutional rights of gay couples.
"The Administration believes the public interest is best served by permitting the court's judgment to go into effect, thereby restoring the right of same-sex couples to marry in California," the Republican governor's lawyers said on his behalf. "Doing so is consistent with California's long history of treating all people and their relationships with equal dignity and respect."
The case goes next to the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and both sides say it is sure to wind up in the U.S. Supreme Court.
Judge Walker could make a decision on the stay as early as next week, but no timeline has been made for his decision.

  1. You might as well make being gay illegal... which you can't do, since sex of any type between two consenting adults is their own business.
