Arlen Spector Defeated

U.S. Senator Arlen Spector was defeated in the Democratic primary by U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak on Tuesday.
Spector was running for a sixth term, the first as a Democrat after switching from the GOP. This isn't only a defeat for Spector, but for President Barack Obama who is a huge supporter of Spector.
Spector was first elected to the Senate in 1981 as a Republican and in recent years switched parties. A big part of Sestak's campaign focused on Spector's party switch.
Joe Sestak will face Republican Pat Toomey in the fall election.
