Phillies Extend Ryan Howard

The Philadelphia Phillies and Ryan Howard have agreed to a 5 year contract extension with a club option for a sixth year. The former Rookie of the Year and MVP will be with the Phillies until 2016 and guaranteed $125 million and possibly $138 million.
The fifth leading home run hitter in Phillies history will receive $20 million in 2112 and 2113, $25 million in each season 2114 - 2116. If the team picks up the option Howard will make $23 million in 2117 or they have a $10 million buy out option. The contract also has various award bonuses and a limited no trade clause.
To date Howard has hit 225 home runs and has 656 RBIs.
