Cholera Outbreak In Haiti

BREAKING NEWS...An outbreak of cholera is devastating Haiti.
The cholera epidemic has killed at least 208 and has hospitalized more than a thousand. Aid groups are rushing medicine and other supplies to help with the deadly situation. Hundreds have converged on St. Nicholas Hospital in the seaside city of St. Marc; where patients with IVs are laying in the parking lot waiting for further treatment.
Cholera is a bacterial infection spread through contaminated water.  It causes severe diarrhea and vomiting that can lead to dehydration and death can occur within hours. Officials in Haiti are encouraging frequent and washing to stop the spread of the disease.

The US Embassy is encouraging people to only drink bottled water or boiled water and to eat thoroughly cooked food.

This is Haiti's deadliest health problem since its devastating earthquake.
