The recall has been issued due to an assembly problem in the steering column which could cause the driver to loose the ability to steer the automobile properly and cause an accident. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports the joint connections on the steering column may have been improperly assembled or insufficently tightened.
The affected 2011 Sonatas were manufactured from December 11, 2009 through September 10, 2010.
