Honda Recall: Is Your Car on the List?

News came today of a massive recall by Honda Motor Co.  The recall is affecting 428,000 vehicles in the United States and Canada.

Honda has issued the recall because of a problem with the ignition interlock lever that could cause the vehicle to roll away if not parked correctly.  The ignition interlock lever prevents the driver from removing the key from the ignition if the vehicle is not in park correctly.

Models affected by the recall are the Accord, Element and Civic from 2003 and 2004 in the US.  In Canada the same models are affected as well as the Acura 1.7 ELs.

The recall will take affect in late September and owners can contact Honda at (800) 999-1009.
