Joran Van der Sloot Arrested for Murder

Chilean police have captured and arrested Joran Van der Sloot as the prime suspect of a murdered 21 year old woman in Peru this week.  The woman was found stabbed to death in a hotel room in Lima that was registered to Van der Sloot

Van der Sloot is most known for being the chief suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama high school student Natalie Halloway in Aruba.  He was arrested twice in the Halloway case, but was released and has denied any involvement with her disappearance.

Chilean media is reporting that Van der Sloot was apprehended while traveling in a taxi near Santiago.  A Peruvian taxi drive told authorities that he drove Van der Sloot to the border of Chile where he witness Van der Sloot walk across the border on Wednesday. 

Chilean authorities said it could take up to five days for Joran Van der Sloot to be extradited back to Peru to face the murder charges.
