Obama Nominates Solicitor General For Supreme Court

Multiple media outlets are reporting that President Barack Obama will nominate Solicitor General Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court. President Obama has nominated Kagan as a replacement for retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens who will retire this summer.
Kagan, the only woman to hold the position, was nominated by President Obama in January 2009 to become the 45th Solicitor General if the United States.
If nominated she will become the youngest nominated for the Supreme Court. An official announcement is expected Monday morning.
