LaShawn Merritt Tests Positive

LaShawn Merritt, 400-meter Olympic gold medalist tested positive for steroids.  The 2008 Olympic champion faces a two year ban for taking an over the counter male enhancement product that unknowingly contained an anabolic steroid.
Merritt is deeply sorry for taking this product for personal reasons and has withdrawn himself from competition until the outcome of this case.  He tested positive for DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone), which is sold legally in the United States as a dietary supplement, but is banned by the the Olympic committee.  No ruling is expected for a couple of months.
