Roy Halladay Throws No Hitter in Debut

BREAKING NEWS...Philadelphia Phillies ace Roy Halladay waited his entire career to pitch in the post season and his first appearance was historical.
In Halladay's debut, he became the second pitcher in Major League Baseball history to throw a no hitter in the post season.   Don Larson was the first in 1956 World Series when  he threw a perfect game.
Halladay's no hitter was a 4-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds in the opening game of the best of five National League Divisional Series.  The only blemish for Halladay was a fifth inning walk to Jay Bruce.  He struck out 8 and threw 25 first pitch strikes to the 28 batters he faced.
This is the second no hitter of the year for Halladay who had a perfect game on May 29 against the Florida Marlins. Nolan Ryan is the only other pitcher in MLB history to throw two no hitters in the same season.
