Times Square Bomber Pleads Guilty

Faisal Shahzad entered a plea of guilty Monday for all ten count filed against him in the botched Times Square Bombing.  The 30 year old Pakistani-American entered the plea today in front of US District Court Judge Miriam Cedarbaum.

Shahzad old the court: "I want to plead guilty 100 times because unless the United States pulls out of Afghanistan and Iraq, until they stop drone strikes in Somalia, Pakistan and Yemen and stop attacking Muslim lands, we will attack the United States and be out to get them."

The attempted bombing of Times Square occurred on May 1.  Two days later Shahzad was apprehended at JFK International Airport trying to leave the country.

While being questioned by Judge Cedarbaum, Shahzad said, "I consider myself a mujahedeen and a Muslim soldier."  When asked about the crime he committed he responded, "I would not consider it a crime. ... I'm aware it's a crime in the United States, but I don't care about the law of the United States."

Sentencing is scheduled for October 5.  Six of the 10 counts against him carry a sentence of life in prison.
